Our chimes will withstand normal winds & breezes and are held together with
strings that will not turn brittle with age or sun as "fishing line" does. I have
several chimes of my own and the only time one has broken is when it was blown
off of the hook and landed on concrete. They have gone through some pretty brutal storms,
mainly due to my forgetfullness. If I know "high winds" are coming I try to remember to take them down.

The chimes are made from fused glass - double thickness - and are not drilled.
The rings that hold them together are fused into the glass.
